Dream House Ensemble Bio (Persian)

Dream House Ensemble was founded in 2018 with the vision of creating a dedicated platform for performing and promoting contemporary music. The ensemble officially took shape in the fall of that year, with an artistic mission centered on presenting works by contemporary composers—particularly lesser-performed repertoire from the second half of the 20th century—and introducing these works to wider audiences.

The ensemble’s debut performance took place on December 13, 2018, at Ace Gallery, featuring the indefinites by the American avant-garde composer John Cage.

On January 11, 2019, Dream House Ensemble presented its second project, Fixed Sounds, at the Niavaran Cultural Center Gallery in collaboration with the Niavaran Artistic Creations Foundation. The program included works by John Cage, La Monte Young, and Nader Mashayekhi.

On February 22, 2019, the ensemble performed works by the American avant-garde composer La Monte Young at Gallery No.14 in Tehran.

This was followed by a performance on June 8, 2019, featuring a work by Terry Riley at Day Show House in cooperation with Yarava Music Group.

On June 21, 2019, the ensemble participated in the 4th Tehran Contemporary Music Festival, performing pieces by John Cage, Christian Wolff.

On July 20, 2019, Dream House Ensemble performed at the 3rd Tehran Electronic Music Festival, presenting a work by Karlheinz Stockhausen.

Another performance took place on November 16, 2019, at EMARAT ROOBEROO, featuring a musical interpretation based on poems by contemporary poet Mohammad Azarm.

On September 26, 2020, the ensemble recorded part of the soundtrack to Koyanis Katsi (1982) by Philip Glass.

On May 28, 2021, the ensemble recorded the Variations Theme album at Saba Studio in Tehran, based on a text by John Cage and translated by Ali Ghanbari.

On December 4, 2021, the ensemble rehearsed and recorded The Cause of My Existence at Sorena Hall, based on a text by Ai Weiwei, also translated by Ali Ghanbari.

The ensemble’s first album, Themes and Variations, was released on February 18, 2022, by Noise a Noise Publishing House.

A recording of The Cause of My Existence was released on May 3, 2022.

Dream House Ensemble performed on July 8, 2022, at the first Contemporary Music Magazine Festival at the Tehran Music Museum.

From September 2022 to March 2023, the ensemble focused on rehearsing and recording new works for future performances and publication.

In October 2023, the ensemble released its second album, Sonorystyka No.1, featuring works by Nader Mashayekhi, Ali Radman, and Idin Samimi Mofakham, published by Avaye Pezhvak Contemporary Art Cultural Institute.

Recent Activities (2024–2025)

On December 5, 2024, the ensemble performed Stimmung, one of the landmark works of the 20th century by Karlheinz Stockhausen, at the Iranian Artists Forum.

On December 25, 2024, Stimmung was performed again at the Ava Center Gallery in Tehran.

On November 13, 2025, Dream House Ensemble released its third independent album, Stimmung by Karlheinz Stockhausen, published by Raha Records.

On December 6, 2025, the ensemble performed at the 3rd Contemporary Music Magazine Festival at the Tehran Music Museum, presenting Accords of Our Time No.1 & No.2 by Idin Samimi Mofakham.
